Have You Had Multiple DWI Arrests?
A single DWI conviction is bad enough. Multiple DWI arrests can result in a felony DWI conviction that can land you in jail. When the consequences are this serious, you must have an attorney by your side who knows how to help.
If you have been arrested for DWI for the second, third or fourth time:
- Do not answer the officers' questions
- Do not say anything except, "I want to speak to an attorney."
- Do not submit to a blood or breath test
- Do not take any field sobriety tests
- Contact me, Houston criminal defense attorney Johnny P. Papantonakis, at (713) 409-4455.
When it comes to drunk driving, Texas law treats multiple offenders harshly.

- 30 days to a year in jail
- Driver's license suspension for up to two years
- Surcharge of $1,500. per year for three years
- Additional surcharge of $2,000. per year if your BAC was .16 or over
Consequences for a Third Texas DWI/DUI:
- Classification as a third degree felony
- Fines of up to $10,000.
- Two to 10 years in the state penitentiary
- Driver's license suspended for up to two years
- Surcharge of $2,000. per year if your BAC was .16 or over
Even if you have had multiple DWI arrests, there are still ways an experienced criminal defense lawyer can help to minimize the consequences you may face.
